Non-NHS Services

Most of the work done in the surgery is available free under the NHS, but some aspects of health care are only available privately. Some travel vaccinations, the completion of forms for private medical insurance claims, and a number of other items will attract a fee payable in advance. A full list is displayed in the waiting room and reception will be able to help with any queries.

CMP Professional Fees - November 2019

Minor Surgery

All the doctors will perform minor surgery in the fully equipped treatment room including removal of skin lumps, cysts, ingrowing toe nails and cryosurgery.

Contraceptive Care

A full contraceptive service is available from all the doctors including advice about pills, caps, implants, sheaths and coils during normal surgery time. For the fitting of caps and coils please inform the receptionist so the appropriate time can be booked.

Preconception Care

Any women who are thinking of having children should consider having a blood test to check they are still protected against rubella (german measles), and at the same time be advised about their diet and folic acid tablets.

Maternity Care

All the doctors look after their own patients during pregnancy or on a shared basis with the Consultant Obstetrician if this is necessary. This means that most ladies will be seen at the surgery for their ante-natal care. The midwife is here on a Monday afternoon to see patients.

Medical Examinations

If you need a special examination, e.g. for an Insurance Company, Driving License, etc, please arrange with the receptionist, as a longer appointment has to be arranged. For these examinations a charge may be made as recommended by the British Medical Association.

Practice Nurses

Our fully qualified nurses, assisted by the HCA, can help with advice and assist with a wide range of problems including

  • new registration and well person checks
  • baby and adult immunisation
  • holiday vaccinations
  • blood tests
  • ear syringing
  • blood pressure and pill checks
  • wound and ulcer dressing
  • removal of sutures
  • treatment for warts and verrucas
  • ECGs and audiograms.

In conjunction with the doctors they carry out routine checks for

  • asthma
  • coronary heart disease
  • stopping smoking
  • weight control
  • diabetes.

Appointments should be made with reception indicating which clinic so the appropriated length of time can be allowed.
